I have came across many bloggers running a blog on free Blog-hosting services like Blogger.com and wordpress.com with very good content. I, too, used to be such blogger (Free Blog). Honestly, I worked alot to acquired good ranking in various search engines. I published good quality of optimized content, submitted to directories. Result? Google ranked my blog for keywords which were quite closer to my niche keywords. One thing that used to purterb me was search engines like MSN, Yahoo, Live and AOL just indexed my posts but hardly ranked for any decent keywords as compare to Google. That got me think that google is the best amongst all search engines. Even you might be thinking so. Right?

Well, there are many factors that affects ranking. Own domain name, I believe, is one of them. Even after 20-25 days of its launch this blogger templates blog has started getting traffic from major search engines like Live and MSN. Have a glance at below image.

I did nothing to be ranked on Live and MSN. I haven’t even submitted url to be crawled. Does that mean ‘ Blogging with your own domain name affects ranking‘ or it has happened just to me!
